Philosophy
Life is Good. Start with positive action, thought, and intention, stir in a little compassion and empathy from others, add a pinch (or dollop) of good humor, and we can overcome seemingly insurmountable physical obstacles as well as internal emotional and external societal obstacles.
We can break through brick walls!
Meet edward Goto
Filmmaker, Engineer, Sarcastic Optimist
Edward believes Filmmaking like Cooking is an art and a science. The Filmmaker is the chef whose own preferences in spices creates a unique vision.
In Edward’s case, he has a penchant for tenacity, honesty, humor, and optimism. These ingredients are baked into all the projects Edward cooks up.
Edward's training in Creative Writing (AFI, American Film Institute), Theater and Mechanical Engineering (Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo) have trained him to create films which convey information, mood, and emotion in a natural organic way through meticulous planning of his cinematography, direction of actors, and scriptwriting.
Always looking for any opportunities to create memorable visuals with maximum emotional impact and moments with unforgettable spontaneous humor.
Mastery of sound and music to create moods and tempos within the onscreen world is evident in all his work.
Creating and directing teams of craftspeople specialized in film production is paramount to achieving the best possible audio and visual story.
ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND
Although Edward always looks for humor in even the most serious subjects, he has a special sensitivity for social justice stories.
His parents experienced two of the most consequential events in American 20th Century history: The Japanese American "Internment Camps" during World War II and the Atomic Bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945.
These influences have shaped the way Edward views the world. And that film can impact and remind people that there is always hope and that we can and will survive to create a better world now and in the future.
